Real Life Intervenes

I just checked my last post and saw that it was in July. I'm sure the few people who actually check this, and who aren't related to me by blood, must think I've abandoned the effort to blog anything about Bianca. Not true, but real life intervened. In summary, work's been hell, my parents came, Ewa's parents came, Bianca grew. She learned to walk about two weeks ago. In the last week she's been walking more and more; though she still enjoys holding onto one of our hands as she walks. While I haven't kept up the blog, there are pictures galore on Fotki.

We celebrated Bianca's first birthday with some friends yesterday. Bianca hadn't napped all day so she was running on fumes, but she stayed upright until 7:30 when we put her to bed and she was D-U-N. She got some nice gifts and we had some nice conversations, though with the noise of kids banging about it was hard to keep switching back and forth between Spanish and English.

I hope to do better this fall as work winds down and Bianca's vocabulary grows. She barks at doggies, she says 'mama' and 'tata' though not always convincingly and we think she's saying "dzidzia" - baby in Polish and "hola" pretty often.
