Moving on
Sorry its been so long since a post, but a lot has been going on. A week ago Friday I was reassigned to La Spagna. So the vast majority of time has been closing out everything at work and preparing myself, my stuff and my family for a move. This Spain gig should be 1.5yrs so our baby will most likely be born in Spain. When I told a friend of mine his first question was, "which national team will the kid play for; Spain, US or Poland?" I'd like to think there are bigger issues than that - and I don't even know if our child will be granted Spanish citizenship by birth (frankly, I doubt it) - but it did cause me to stop and think.
So, we are La Coruna bound.
The baby is growing and so is E's tummy, though she can't see the day-to-day changes. And some people don't notice when she's sitting down, with maternity jeans on! But I see it - growing almost every day - and I love it. She looks great. Healthy, happy, glowing.
The girlfriend of one of my colleagues just had a baby in January. And this little guy has the Bugaboo Frog stroller. I thought it was cool, but had no idea what a sensation it was, or how expensive, until I checked it out on the web. I told A, the father, that I think I had a car that cost less than that (I haven't, but it felt like the most dorky thing to say....yeah, lets just skip over this part). Apparently all the cool kids in Vienna are being pushed around in these things.
Other news; geez so much has happened. When I called my Dad to tell him we were moving to Spain he told me that my cousin's wife was pregnant. He's American, she's Italian; and the irony of an Italian semi-English speaking woman going to the ob/gyn in NYC and a Non-Italian, but Italian speaking woman going to the ob/gyn in Italy is not lost on us. Maybe its not the same thing, but its close. They are due in November, so its going to be a busy year for our family.
